What Business To Start if You want to be An Entrepreneur But Don’t Have A Business Idea.

Business idea

I’ve been obsessively studying entrepreneurship and successful entrepreneurs since the early 2,000’s. What I find fascinating is the diverse backgrounds they have. Some are the archetypical college dropouts that start hugely successful businesses a la Steve Jobs and Bill Gates (Richard Branson didn’t even finish high school). While others actually have PhD’s.

Some were early prodigies, like Warren Buffett who bought his first stock at age 11 and bought a farm when he was in his teens. And again, Richard Branson who started a Christmas tree business in his teens. While others were much older, like Col. Sanders who famously started Kentucky Fried Chicken in his sixties.

Some knew exactly what business they wanted to start, while others just stumbled from one business to the next until finally hitting it big with one of them.

So what do you do if you have the burning desire to free yourself from the shackles of corporate life and live the exciting life of an entrepreneur, but don’t have a business idea?

The answer is simple: get a franchise.

Franchises are great because they allow ambitious people to own their own business without having to come up with a successful business idea themselves. It also allows them to avoid the years of trial and error it takes to make a business successful. Another advantage is that as a franchisee, you get systems that you just have to implement. And a really good franchisor will give you tons of training and support.

So where do you find good franchises? One source is franchise directories like Franchise.org, Franchise.com and Franchisegator.com. Another is just keeping your eyes open when travelling. I recently came back from holiday in Thailand and am considering at two franchises for the Middle East.

It goes without saying that you need to do your homework on the franchisors, and that getting a franchise does not mean you don’t have to put in your sweat and tears to make the business work. There’s no success without hard work.

On a final note, if you’re based outside of Bahrain, you might want to consider the DreamBody Centre franchise. We’ll take good care of you.

Thanks for reading and talk to you soon.
