I’m sitting here on the 11th floor of the Double Tree hotel after a long day. I’m not as tired as I usually am at this time. I think I’m finally over my jet lag. Took long enough, I’ve been here 8 days now. I was really tired last night and slept around 9 pm and woke up at 8 am! Nice! My usual wake up time has been around 5 am in the last few days.
Today was a good day. I had lots of energy and was in a good mood. As usual I spent the day with my father in the hospital room. He was in a good mood and I feel quite optimistic about his condition. After leaving the hospital I went for a short walk.
I had some sushi in a nearby Japanese fusion restaurant, and then went for a walk. It was freezing but very enjoyable. As I was walking a lady called out to me “Hey! Really nice hat!” “Thank you very much!” I replied. That made me feel even better – nothing like a complement to improve your mood even more. When you’re bald like me, you gotta wear a hat in the winter.
While walking I stopped a few times to breathe in the pure, cold, refreshing air. I loved it! It really felt nice. I took some photos as well, which I’ll share with you in a moment (Bear in mind they were taken from my phone).
I walked into a Barnes and Noble book store and was mesmerised. It was stunning! One of my favourite things is to walk around in a bookshop. I could spend hours in one. This B&N was really nice and I spent over 40 minutes in it. I resisted very hard to buy any books. My backlog of books is massive (probably close to 100 books) and I have another massive wish list on Amazon. I bought several books with me on this trip and last thing I need is more books. So I resisted the temptation quite well. I did buy two magazines though, Forbes and Entrepreneur. The books store used to be a cinema apparently.
Anyway, I left and walked for another few minutes and then made my way back to the hotel. I’m feeling really good and have a smile on my face 🙂
Here are the photos…
Talk to you soon.
