I’m delighted to announce that -FINALLY!- the new DreamBody Centre (DBC) in Hamala will open this Tuesday the 10th of March at 7:00 am!  I picked up the Commercial Registration (CR) from the ministry of commerce this morning.

It took us about three months to get the CR.  To say it’s been a stressful period for me would be an understatement.  For those who don’t know, The DreamBody Centre is Bahrain’s first and only 23-minute weight loss and body transformation centre.  It’s a place where you can get your “Dream Body” in just 23 minutes, 3 times a week.

It’s also the only place in Bahrain that has the audacity to offer you two money-back guarantees – including a double your money back guarantee!  This is not a joke.  You can find out more at

You may recall that a while ago I made a crazy, once-in-a-lifetime offer where I offered people the chance to get a whole year free when they join the DreamBody Centre.  I made this offer on the occasion of the birth of my son Tameem.

I know that some people were very keen on using this offer in Hamala, but were never able to because we were not open yet.  Well, since we had to keep people waiting, I’d like to extend this offer.

Basically, if you join the Dream Body Centre in Hamala (and pay one year in advance), I will give you a full year FREE added to your membership!  Really.

There’s only one condition… this offer is only available to the first 10 people who respond, and it expires in one week, Tuesday the 17th of March.

The next 20 people who join after that will get 3 months added to their membership!  This offer is valid only until Tuesday the 31st of March 2009, at 12:03 pm.

Make sure to come in first thing Saturday morning to take advantage of this offer!  The number there is 17 613 352.  The centre is located in the Al-Dhila compound on Wali Al Ahd highway, where the old Harley Davidson showroom used to be.  It’s right next to New York Coffee.

Please note you have to go in person to take advantage of this offer, you can’t call in to reserve a spot.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and if you’re one of those who’ve been waiting for DBC Hamala, thank you for your patience!

    Hey Suhail,

I came across this website on January, I have been in Egypt since and I am moving back to Bahrain in July. Look, I am contemplating a gastric bypass. But I am thinking of giving this DBC a chance. But really if you’re just marketing this as a definite solution and it isn’t….then that would be a real shame because playing with people’s hopes and insecurities is by no means noble. I guess I will try it when I come back. But how expensive is this place? For some reason I feel like the price will be over the top and as a recently graduated student I don’t know if I can afford anything that’s priced for the elite. So two questions: A. Is this just another empty marketing campaign? (I guess even if it was you wouldn’t be able to tell me anyway) and B. How expensive is this place, because let’s face it not everyone who is obese is a Sheikh? Also, I just wanted to add that I admire that you had dreams and reached for them. Even if all else is a hoax, at least I can respect you for that.

    Have a great day.

Did I just sound like the most bitter, cynical and pessimistic person on the planet?
    Congratulations on the opening.
    Forgot to mention that earlier!

    Dear Suhail,
you have no idea what dbc has given me. i have been there for a very short time but it has already changed me.
i am overweight and on the verge of obesity(according to my bmi) and have hypothyroidism -which to me translates to ‘you will always be a fat lazy bum’ that is a crushing feeling to any woman.
when i was single i was very active and loved going to the gym , now as a mother of 4 (ages between10 years to 10 months) i find it impossible to invest 2 hours going to the gym. the guilt is always there. people tell me all the time:’you have to be selfish and leave the kids a couple of hours so you can exercise’ how many times per week can i be selfish and not feel like the worst mum? how does that help?
when one thing in your life doesn’t work it spills over in other aspects. so being overweight makes me feel like a failure as a mother as a wife as a friend as a business owner….etc. this was the case until my friend said i should try dbc. i swear things have changed for me.
1-my body has more shape in a very short tome
2-i manage to exercise , shower , change and take my daughter to school all under 45 mins! ( i could never do that with a normal workout)
3-i love the 30 second timer in the dbc gym. it is a wake up call for me that time is so precious and we waste as if we’ll live forever. now i think of everything i do in terms of that timer. if a body can be transformed in 30 second intervals, then imagine how life would be different if we put the same urgency on the important things we delay?
4- i am more alert and more ENERGETIC. that is a feat for anyone with a thyroid issue.
5- i can give more to the kids. more patience with requests, homework, outings, whining…etc
the list will be longer after a month inshalla.
thanks for everything you do to help enhance people’s lives.
